On this lonely road,
Armed with dark humour, Armoured in sarcasm;
My metaphors left me scrambling,
To describe this feeling, uncontainable in simile;
My internal chaos came to a standstill with your feathered touch,
My skin crackled in tandem to your electric fingers;
I found you alone and you found me spiralling,
Each stolen moment, a frisson of perfection,
Like biting into Passionfruit,
Away from prying eyes; never accepting,
This colourful reality we fostered in each significant gaze;
Our own Utopic island, where no harm could shatter this sunny Peace,
The wind whirled around us,
Jealous of the slender threads that bound us;
But soon those iridescent bonds turned to chains of steel,
Shackling me to you;
Those light breezes became a thunderstorm,
Leaving no Rainbows in the aftermath;
No longer my touchstone, you caged me in your insecurities;
I contorted my heart painfully, to escape your hold,
You tore my heart into pieces, on your way out;
And once again I find myself on this sombre road;
Only my shattered soul to accompany me,
In the vacuum of that succubus –
The only girl I ever loved.
